Dear all,
Some interesting design events/online courses happening soon that we wanted to spread the word on:


 
1. FREE online prototyping course jointly developed by IDEO and +Acumen - 12th Nov (Tues) to 18th Dec (Wed)

This online course will be open for 5 weeks from start date and participants can work through the materials at their own pace.

Learn from IDEO.org designers to make your ideas come to life!

What you'll learn:

  • Practice the mindsets and methods of human-centered design to produce tangible results quickly
  • Experiment with methods to prototype products, services, interactions, and environments
  • Gain valuable feedback from the people you’re designing for and incorporating that feedback into new iterations
  • Demonstrate how the cycle of prototyping, feedback, and iteration leads to concept refinement

Format and time commitment:

  • Team-Based Course: Strongly encouraged to form a team of 2-8 people to do this course (but not required)
  • Duration: This course will be open for 5 weeks. You can work through the materials at your own pace while the course is open. There are suggested weekly deadlines to help you stay on track. The only firm deadline is course's final day.
  • Time commitment: ~ 4 hrs per week (1 hr individual reading time and 3 hrs for group work)

Upon course completion:

  • Statement of Accomplishment: You will earn a Statement of Accomplishment signed by the Director of +Acumen and the Executive Director of IDEO.org that you can share with your professional networks

2. The UX Crunch Future Technology - 26th Nov (Tues), 18:00-20:45. WeWork, 1 Fore Street Avenue, EC2Y 5EJ. A London UX meetup about Future Tech & Design. Learn, connect and grow with the UX community at this social event.

Designers have always worked at the intersection of cultural and technological trends, whether in digital or physical products. But today these trends are being accelerated by advances in technology, some of which are so rapid that it is hard to integrate them into planning, design and development before they are superseded. Connectivity is becoming the fourth utility that underlies all the changes that are coming from new computational architecture and intelligent software.
