Dear wine enthusiasts,
The Wine & Cheese Club suggests getting a Level 2 training, taught by a WSET-certified teacher, ending with an exam which award an official tasting diploma. The Level 2 training is a good start for wine amateurs as it is comprehensive without being too complicated:
- 8 modules
- practical tasting experiences (6 wine samples per module)
- 1 hour multiple choice exam at the end (54% to pass)
- at LBS premises
- £380 per person (including 4 tasting glasses)
The modules will take place on the following 8 Wednesday evenings. The last module will be followed by a 1-hour exam, therefore the whole session will start earlier:
Francois Disch, Co-President of the club, will centralize the payments and will then make a unique payment to Ashika Mathews, our WSET certified teacher. The fee is £380, to be paid by bank transfer before Wednesday 01/04/15:
- 15/04/2015: 19:30 to 21:30 in Regent's Room
- 22/04/2015: 19:30 to 21:30 in Regent's Room
- 29/04/2015: 19:30 to 21:30 in Park Restaurant Suite 2
- 20/05/2015: 19:30 to 21:30 in Regent's Room
- 27/05/2015: 19:30 to 21:30 in Garden Room
- 10/06/2015: 19:30 to 21:30 in Regent's Room
- 24/06/2015: 19:30 to 21:30 in Regent's Room
- 01/07/2015: 18:00 to 21:30 in Garden Room
The course contents are available here (the modules will be more pleasant to attend than this document to read!!). In addition to the theoretical information, the course includes practical tastings. However the exam is based on multiple choice answers and does not include any tastings.
Proper tasting glasses will be needed for the tuition. The production of crystal tasting glasses with logos (see attached!) has been organised, we hope you will find them nice. Each student will be given 4 glasses at the beginning of the first session, and it will be then the student's responsibility to bring them back for the next sessions.

The tuition fees are not refundable, even if you drop on the way or fail the exam (Ashika made it very clear). However you can miss sessions without being disqualified for the exam, as the presentations will be made available - so there is flexibility to accommodate our busy agendas.
