Welcome
Welcome back and to a new year.
It’s that time when the sun is shy, winter has settled in, and ice on the footpath becomes a hazard.
We, here at the Partners Club, hope everyone had a safe and lovely Christmas, New Year and festive break.
As the school year resumes, LBS related activities also increase for the next few months.
You’ll be able to find a list off all of the events on our calendar on the club’s webpage, and also via the Facebook group. But never fear, we’ve also packed all of the goodies within this newsletter, so you don’t have to go searching.
Furthermore, the club is really hoping to increase club participation this year and we’ve got a few tricks up our sleeve to ensure that can happen.
Firstly, it has come to our attention that some folk are a little apprehensive about heading along to Sundowners… you know, that place at LBS where there is beer, wine and soft drinks at hand that our partners disappear to on Thursday evenings? If you would like to go, but are looking for someone to go with, get in contact with the club and we will direct you to where some of our members will be. Also, for licencing, please get your partner to add your name to the guest list.
I understand there’s also been a lot of secret men’s business happening behind the scenes and things are shaping up for some regular and rather wonderful events. These events are by no means limited to the male members of the club or school, they are simply more targeted towards those of the more masculine variety. In saying that, I do plan on attending SEVERAL of the events planned.
Importantly, this club really thrives on one thing: you! So please, send through any requests, if you want to contribute towards the newsletter, get in contact with me (I have an allergy to technology), if you have any suggestions or just want to get involved more, don’t be backwards in coming forward.
Finally, the brains and technology behind the newsletter, Lisa Twang, is packing her bags and moving to warmer climes. So, I want to say a big thank-you for her help over the past while (hence, if you’re good at websites, you and I need to talk).
Thanks for reading,
The Newsletter Folk

FLU SEASON
I recall this time last year and I felt as though I was an infant going to day-care for the first time; not because I felt out of place as such, but more because I picked up EVERY bug that was going around. This might have had something to do with the fact that winter was a mystical creature for me, spoken of but never seen, or it could have been to do with the fact that I was in a city with lots more people and much less personal space. But if you find yourself in the situation of the four-month-flu, take some strong multi-vitamins. If you’re feeling blue, Vitamin D is your best friend, so is the Partners Club.
SURVEY:
If you haven’t noticed yet, we’re a curious bunch here at the Partners Club. In fitting with that, we have a quick survey we would love for you to fill out. It will only take about two minutes of your time and is to help us figure out what you want from the club.
