Logistics Information

TRANSPORTATION

Geneva <> Val Thorens, France

  • Transportation has been arranged to shuttle you between Geneva Airport and Residence Village Montana, our resort for the week from Saturday, December 7, to Saturday, December 14.
    • You are responsible for booking your own flights to the Geneva airport on December 7. Buses will be departing at various times on Dec 7th. Please arrive no later than 5pm. As the transfer takes 3-4 hours, we cannot wait for later flights. We will ask you to share your flight details with us so that we can account for any unexpected delays. Please book your returning flight no earlier than 2:30pm.
  • If you decide to arrive or leave on a different day or time, the transportation costs will not be covered. We cannot guarantee the availability of alternative transportation options.

ACCOMMODATION

  • We are staying at Village Montana ****. The apartments dispose of a kitchenette and can accommodate groups of 4 people. Roommate preferences will be collected after the ticket sale. A map of the resort layout can be found below:
   

LIFT PASSES

  • We will be skiing and snowboarding in world’s biggest resort 😱! Lift passes are included in all tickets and will be handed out on arrival in Val Thorens. They are valid for 6 days, from Sunday to Friday, and cover the Three Valleys ski area (Val Thorens, Meribel and Courchevel).
  • Please note that ski passes do not include Carre Neige (insurance which covers accidents on the slopes from skiing/other winter sport). The Carre Neige can be added on to your lift pass at the local Tourism Office (see below). Ski passes will be collected by rooms captains, for the room, on Saturday upon arrival at the resort.

SKI RENTAL

(not included in the ticket price)

  • We suggest booking material online at Val Thorens best-rated ski rental Ski Republic Val Thorens. We have arranged an exclusive 15% promocode for LBS students, which will be shared with ticket holders after the ticket sale. The pick-up location “Chamois” is closer to our accommodation. Please remember to book a helmet for your protection.

LESSONS

(not included in the ticket price)

  • We have secured a partnership with Val Thoren's best-rated ski school Oxygene Ski Val Thorens. There will be LBS-only group/private lessons for all levels at great discount rates. The sign-up link will be shared with ticket holders after the ticket sale.
  • There will also be a Beginners WhatsApp Group to facilitate communication among people keen to take lessons or to engage in non-skiing activities (snowshoeing, hikes etc.).

INSURANCE

(not included in the ticket price)

Prices for emergency assistance in the mountains can be extremely expensive 🤕. We strongly advise you to arrange insurance that explicitly covers winter sports. Carré Neige insurance costs around 3€/day and offers medical protection (up to 50,000€) in the event of:
  • Accidents while skiing or doing other winter sports in the ski area including the off-piste ski area that is accessible via ski-lift
  • Accidents while doing sledge
  • Sickness during your stay
